Where to Begin was created for the Opening Ceremony of the Edinburgh International Festival, transforming the façade of George Heriot’s School through large-scale projection mapping.

 

As Creative Director and Producer of video content, I led the creation of the video content, which was mapped across the architecture using 12 projectors.

 

The story honoured the resilient, creative heartbeat of Edinburgh and its people, travelling from the subterranean hidden worlds and vaults beneath its streets to the soaring skyline above. The narrative reached further back into the city’s prehistoric and geological origins, exploring the physical rock, volcanic forces and mythology that have shaped Edinburgh and its landscape.
